 In the pongal race, Nanban is in the 1st position. It holds the box office collection strongly. It occupies 95% in every theater. The repeated family audience make the movie a huge sucess. Nanban is going to release on january 12 and the booking start from january 8, four days prior to the release. The makers are hopeful of seeing a huge opening for this pongal release and trade gurus are confident it will thanks to the star value, promising crew and a long festive weekend.

The hit number from south, "Appadi Podu" has changed hands. Earlier the rights of the song from tamil film 'Ghilli' was bagged by Sonu Sood for his forthcoming film titled 'Lucky Lucky'. However now buzz is that khiladi entertainer Akshay Kumar has got it from Sood. Talks in the circles are that Akki was keen to have the song for his forthfilming film titled'Naam Hai Boss'.  Apparently Akshay had earlier bough the rights of 'Appadi Podu', but sonu, who was not aware of the fact, thart gone ahead to ask the songs ariginal music composer vidyasagar to return for him. Eventually the Action King Salman Khan, went and requested him the song's rights. Incidentally speculations were there that Salman Khan and Sonu Nigam were interested to have "Appadi Podu" song for their respective vendures.
